Friend got into Georgetown as a transfer student after doing average in high school, how rare is this?
So my friend who currently attends a tier 4 university recently heard from Georgetown University. He had been accepted as a transfer student there. Now his grades in high school were just average at best, he graduated with a 3.4 GPA and had a 3.2 when he was applying for colleges. He does outstanding in college and everything, writes a great essay and hears from Georgetown that he had made it as a transfer. He will be finishing his final two years there.
So how rare is this?
Kind of rare since your friend is already at a 4 year university. But its not surprising though. College gives those average high school students another chance at those really good schools like Georgetown.
