State of Israel Coins The Artillery Corps Silver Medal

State of Israel Coins The Artillery Corps Silver Medal

$313.03

The Artillery Corps serves as the Pillar of Fire ahead of the camp. The corps is equipped with a wide variety of sophisticated weapons and is known as one of the world s most technologically advanced field corps. Its designation is to paralyze and destroy enemy forces by exerting firepower deep inside the field of battle in order to facilitate ground maneuvers. The Israeli Artillery Corps was established in March 1948. At the onset of the War of Independence the forces of the Jewish Yishuv or Settlement as it was called were equipped with only 5 field guns. The first selfpropelled cannons were purchased prior to the outbreak of the Sinai War in 1956 and during the years to follow battle strategies were adapted for extensive mobile combat in combination with the Armored Corps. At the start of the Yom Kippur War Israel s limited artillery was no match for the enemy s overpowering numbers and Israeli batteries fought under constant bombardment. The Israel Artillery Corps later played a significant role in launching the offensive strike and successfully executed a special operation in which two M107 cannons neutralized the Damascus International Airport. Today the primary function of the corps is to curtail Hezbollah terrorist activities and infiltration attempts along Israel s northen border and to play an active role in the routine security of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. This medal is a salute to the generations of men and women of the Israeli Artillery Corps. Obverse:. The Artillery Corps in English and Hebrew. Reverse:. The Artillery Corps symbol. Edge:. State of Israel Coins KABBALAH Silver Medal With Color

$367.35

Jewish Mysticism is known as the Kabbalah receiving for it has traditionally been passed down directly from father to son rabbi to pupil generation to generation. It is a tremendous undertaking to present the challenging and vast concepts of the Kabbalah on a single medal and this is exactly what Israel has attempted to do in medals of 1 oz. pure gold or silver and in bronze. This may be the first official government medal which can also be seen as an amulet inasmuch as it also features Psalm 67 artfully written in the form of a Menorah (the sevenbranched candelabrum) which itself is considered an amulet for protection and success in life. The central concept of the Kabbalah is a system of 10 Sefirot the ten attributes of Gd through which the Diety interacts with the universe. The 10 Sefirot are here represented on a tree with the Keter the Supreme Crown at its peak. They are:. Hokhmah Wisdom. Binah Intelligence. Hesed Love. Gevurah Power. Tiferet Beauty. Nezah Endurance. Hod Majesty. Yesod Foundation. Malkhut Sovereignty. (and above all of them Keter the Supreme Crown). The Kabbalah has been deeply rooted in ancient Hebrew mysticism and Jewish thought. Only in the 12th and 13th centuries in Spain and Provence however did Kabbalists popularize its wisdom through the Book of the Zohar. Printing of the main books of the Kabbalah further spread and popularized it and the wisdom of the Kabbalah has since no longer belonged only to a select group of scholars. Since revealed to the people at large the Kabbalah has become a source of wisdom sought after worldwide attracting people from all walks of life. State of Israel Coins Jonah In The Whale Silver Proof Coin

$212.13

Jonah the Prophet was commanded by the Lord to go from the Land of Israel to the city of Nineveh (thought to be Mosul in Iraq today) to warn its people to repent for their evil ways lest their city be destroyed. Jonah however chose to flee from his mission by boarding a ship bound for Tarshish (thought to be Spain today). When a violent storm arose the ship s crew believed that one of the passengers was responsible and cast lots to determine who it could be. The lot fell on Jonah who admitted his guilt and was cast into the sea which then calmed down. Meanwhile a big fish thought to be a whale swallowed up Jonah into its belly where he remained for three days and three nights. From the belly of the fish Jonah prayed to the Lord and was saved when the fish spat him out on the shore. He then understood he was destined to go to Nineveh as he had been commanded.
