Well, the only way to cheat on Pokemon, is to use the integrated cheat system on the M3 card. Whem you really want to cheat.. I used “Pokesave” on Pokemon Diamond. This is a little application to modify your savegame(things like pokemon in party, amount of master balls etc.)
Just google it for Heartgold! Don’t know if it’s available though
